Tamoxifen Citrate or Nolvadex, if you prefer calling it by the brand name is a comparatively milder anabolic non steroidal agent. It is in essence a drug that helps regulate estrogen levels by manipulating estrogen receptors in human tissue. It is used as a suppressant for those suffering from breast cancer owing to its ability to limit the activity of estrogen which is usually very responsive to cancerous cells.
This drug is also used in preventive measures for a person who is under high risk of suffering from breast cancer owing to familial tendencies. This drug should be used by women only after menopause so as to bypass any physical discomfort caused due to estrogen suppression.
